  • Location

As the host city for SIMR 2025, Chengdu provides a vibrant array of attractions that reflect its heritage and charm. With a history spanning over 3,000 years, Chengdu was originally founded by the ancient state of Shu before becoming an integral part of China when the Qin dynasty became all powerful in the 3rd century BCE. One of its oldest and most innovative engineering marvels is the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, fed by the Min River. It is also believed that, in 666 BCE, when a man named Bieling managed to successfully contain a flood, the then king abdicated allowing Bieling to start the Kaiming dynasty until the demise of the Shu state in 316 BCE. Chengdu is also renowned as the home of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a key site for panda conservation efforts. Recognized by UNESCO as a "City of Gastronomy", Chengdu delights visitors with famous dishes like Hotpot, Mapo Tofu, and Dan Dan Noodles. Attending SIMR 2025 in Chengdu offers a unique opportunity to experience the diverse wonders of China firsthand. We eagerly anticipate welcoming you to our captivating city in September 2025
